New York NOW garners third straight Emmy nod
The program selected as a finalist in the "Politics/Government Program" category is "The Rise and Fall of Kodak," an on-location production shot in Rochester that details the recent bankruptcy filing by the Eastman Kodak Company, the city's signature business. Managing Editor Matt Ryan, a native of the Rochester area, tells the story of the company's beginnings under George Eastman, the boom period of the mid-20th Century, and the dark days of January 2012 when Rochestarians learned that Kodak had filed for Chapter 11.
This particular program won the New York State Broadcasters Association award for "Outstanding Locally Produced TV Show" last summer. The Emmys will be awarded April 14th in New York City.
